MY REVIEW

I've always heard lots of great things about Samantha Young's titles, but never tried one myself. I'm glad I remedied to that by grabbing the opportunity to read her stand-alone contemporary romance novel "Hero".

Let me tell you, Caine Carraway has a charm of his own. He definitely knows how to be the biggest asshole in the world, but you can't help and find yourself wanting to slap him hard in the face while also swooning over him. More than once I cheered for Alexa to walk away and, at the same time, I badly wanted her to put Caine in his place. There's lots of sexual tension that drives the characters (and the reader) crazy to the point of their chemistry being really explosive! I loved that and the development of their relationship: from friends to lovers. Or from lovers to friends? Wait, define friends... Speaking of, those they have are certainly a pleasure to read about and a great addition to the story, which has a special angst that makes the book a real page turner.

Although I think Caine's pov would have made a difference and his 'big secret' could have been, well, 'bigger', I found the read quite compelling. Passionate, emotional and intense, "Hero" is a book I would suggest.
