I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this book, what I did know was that the title instantly caught my attention and I really wanted to know what the four letter word was—because opting just for the obvious one would be a mistake—and how it would play out.
Let me tell you, the author did a very good job with the concept of the title, clever and refreshing. The premise is catchy, the dynamic of Sydney and Brian's meeting is certainly engaging and it makes you root for them. I honestly couldn't wait to see how a oops-wrong-number conversation over the phone developed into something deep. However, I have to say that I liked the waiting part better than when they started seeing each other in person. Don't get me wrong, Syd and Brian have quite the chemistry going on, it's undeniable, but I kinda felt disconnected all of a sudden. Even with the steamy scenes, it all felt a bit flat to me. Also, the conflict only comes towards the end where, in my opinion, we find a too easy resolution.
Overall, it wasn't one of my fave reads, but I can't say it was bad either. I loved the first part of the book and there are things after that I still enjoyed, and a couple of secondary characters that surely helped with that. So much so that I'm thinking about reading the next instalment to see how these two figure things out.
